Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Grace Baptist Church of Millersville is hiring a part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator. With a growing number of participants from infancy to 6th grade, the congregation needs someone who can devote vocational time and attention to Grace’s various ministries. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator will work closely with the pastors and Christian Education Committee to accomplish these tasks.

Ministry Prospective

This 10-12 hour per week position involves four primary areas of responsibility:

Overseeing the Nursery

  • Recruit and train nursery volunteers.

  • Prepare the monthly nursery schedule.

  • Ensure that the nursery is well-stocked and maintained.

  • Formulate and enforce nursery protocols.

Chairing the Christian Education Committee

  • Schedule regular meetings with Christian Education Committee volunteers to plan Christian Education programs.

  • Work with the elder liaison to share Christian Education concerns with the elders.

Oversee all aspects of AWANA Ministry at Grace.

Schedule, plan, and lead an annual summer VBS event.


Ministry Qualifications

Grace’s Children’s Ministry Coordinator should:

  • Be a faithful, growing follower of Jesus Christ.

  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a robust understanding of biblical teaching.

  • Manifest interpersonal, educational, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Be willing to join Grace Baptist Church of Millersville as a covenant member of the congregation.

  • Participate in church ministries, functions, and activities.

  • Be available to serve in this position for at least two years.


Compensation
& Benefits

The position offers a salary of $25.00 per hour. Additionally, the Children’s Ministries Coordinator will have a personal budget of $1,200.00 per year for reimbursable ministry expenses. This would include meals eaten in the context of ministry, mileage, and books or training material to further enhance his or her skill. Four weeks of vacation are also included in the compensation package.

If he or she is interested in attending seminars or conferences related to the performance of this task, the Children’s Ministries Coordinator can seek the permission of the board of elders who will evaluate this opportunity and consider what level of reimbursement to offer.
